About Ms. Casser-Jayne:

Writer, photographer, commentator, Halli Casser-Jayne, a foreign correspondent in the 1980’s, reported from war-torn El Salvador and guerrilla-infested Guatemala.

She wrote and produced the six-hour rockumentary on the seminal 60’s band the DOORS, She collaborated with Door’s drummer, John Densmore, on his now celebrated autobiography, RIDERS ON THE STORM.

Her current book, STILL LIFE, images of Antietam (www.hcjstudios.com) features the first serious collection of photographs to be taken of Antietam Battlefield since Alexander Gardner’s 1866 book, Sketchbook of the Civil War. The 152-page volume is a deeply emotional look at the single bloodiest day in American history.

Harsh says the book “is for those who reach out to feel the past.” Antietam National Battlefield Superintendent, John Howard, who wrote the introduction to the book, calls the work “a refreshing viewpoint. STILL LIFE, images of ANTIETAM, which sells for $32.95, is available at leading bookstores throughout the country and online.
